The Alberta Children’s Hospital research teams are working to find new cures and provide better care for children and families fighting cancer. The need for leading-edge research, world-class experts and new technology remains critical.
Building on proven and diverse research strengths in Calgary, the Alberta Cellular Therapy and Immune Oncology Initiative (ACTION) team will focus on developing next-generation cellular immunotherapies – a new form of cancer treatment that harnesses a child’s own immune system to tackle their particular cancer.
Community support is crucial to allow this work to continue and help experts find new, gentler, and even more effective treatments for kids battling cancer.
